Professionals

Just because someone may be successful in their career does not mean that they are immune to the struggles of drug or alcohol addiction. Studies show that drug and alcohol addiction is an equal-opportunity illness, affecting both rich and poor alike. The stress and oftentimes high-intensity environment of modern business careers can encourage drug or alcohol use as either a means of escape or, alternatively, as a way to work harder or longer. No matter someone’s substance of choice, there is a solution, and we aim to provide help and guidance along the way. Regardless of someone’s income or status in their professional life, our program can address their challenges and help them find their way into a life of recovery.

College Students

College can be an extraordinary time in someone’s life, and it can present some unique challenges as well. There is a marked trend for college-aged students to drink more and use more drugs, particularly marijuana and amphetamines, than peers who do not go to college. Aside from the possibility of drug or alcohol abuse, it is not uncommon for underlying mental health challenges to present themselves around this time in someone’s life. Our program here at The Summit Wellness Group can address these drug or alcohol use issues, along with any potential co-occurring mental health issues that someone may be struggling with.

Veterans

Service in any branch of the armed forces, while certainly something to be proud of, can be a stressful or even traumatic experience. The unique challenges and struggles faced by those in active military service can lead to lasting conditions that sometimes persist even after someone has completed their service commitment. Drug and alcohol abuse is, unfortunately, more common in veterans than in their non-veteran peers. This can also be amplified by mental health conditions such as PTSD or other anxiety disorders that are also more common among veterans than in non-veterans. Our program can address substance use and mental health struggles simultaneously, helping care for those who have proudly served our country and guiding them along the journey of recovery.

LGBTQ

The LGBTQ community is made up of many different people with many different gender and sexual orientations, although as a whole, the LGBTQ community does seem to see higher rates of alcohol and drug abuse than the heteronormative community in America today. There could be many different reasons for this, and society’s treatment of LGBTQ individuals struggling with drug or alcohol abuse may play some role as well. That being said, there is a solution to drug or alcohol addiction, and The Summit Wellness Group takes a trauma-informed and nurturing approach to all of our clients regardless of sexual orientation or gender identification.

Seniors

Senior citizens are prone to drug or alcohol addiction the same as any other age group. Whether this is late-onset substance abuse or has been maintained for many years, our program can help someone in either case. Treating older adults for substance abuse issues may require some additional care, and we take great pride in providing the most personalized and compassionate program for senior citizens. This is going to be an increasingly common demographic that is seeking treatment as the baby-boomer generation is aging, and The Summit Wellness Group is ready, willing, and able to provide the help and support they need.
