I think the most important point is this: a prescription does not make the combination safe. A clinician judged the medication useful for a condition. That judgment did not include adding alcohol on top.
What Happens When You Mix Benzos and Alcohol
The two substances share nearly every effect, so combining them stacks the danger.
Here is what the combination can produce:
