The Summit Wellness Group’s Atlanta Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the most intensive form of outpatient addiction treatment available. As is the case with all of our levels of care, PHP is customized to the individual needs of each client. Generally clients participate in our Partial Hospitalization Program for 2-4 weeks, attending group Monday through Friday from 9am until 4pm.
The Summit Wellness Group provides the following services in our Atlanta Partial Hospitalization Program:
- Psychiatric Medication Management
- One on One Therapy
- Group Therapy
- 12-Step Components
- Trauma Therapy
- Holistic Treatment
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Aftercare Treatment
- Family Program / Family Nights
- Random Drug Testing
- Breathalyzer Testing Twice Daily
Our Atlanta Partial Hospitalization Program features 30 hours per week of groups, including the following groups:
Goals and Gratefuls
Group facilitators Jai and Andrew start each morning asking important questions like “what are you grateful for today?” and “what are your goals for today?” in a group setting to check in on everyone’s intentions and emotions. Serving as a warm-up for the day ahead – “goals and gratefuls” reminds us of our hope, strength and perseverance.
12 Step Group
Group facilitator Andrew Smith’s 12 Step Group dives into each step individually and provides knowledge on not only what the steps are but the principles and virtues behind each step. Andrew checks in with each person in recovery and ensures they have a reliable sponsor. The 12 Step Groups number one goal is for all to lead a healthier lifestyle in all areas of life and debunk misconceptions about the 12 Steps.
Neurobiology of Addiction
Sejal leads an evidence-based educational group on how addiction has changed the brain. Specifically focusing on neuroplasticity and how to develop new neural pathways. Essentially, Sejal helps you train your brain to create a new sober lifestyle.
Relapse Prevention/ Early Recovery Skills
Kara and Kate direct the Early Recovery Skills group, taking the concepts necessary for an effective recovery and tailoring it to each individual. You will create strategies for when you may be in a social setting with others who may be drinking or using, be educated on how to handle high-risk situations, learn how to challenge your negative thoughts with positive ones, and fully embrace a routine that involves self-care and sober fun.
Other groups included in our Partial Hospitalization Program include Spirituality, Mindfulness, Healthy Living, Co-Occurring Disorders, Change Your Thoughts / Change Your Life, Seeking Safety, Building Healthy Relationships and more.
Our entire treatment program is heavily focused on individualized care. With that being said, it is generally the best fit for clients who are:
Transitioning From Inpatient Care
Many people who have completed residential treatment experience a sense of shock when returning to their normal lives. Triggers that were not present in the relative safety of inpatient rehab can be found everywhere. PHP provides the same level of support and care as inpatient, to let one reacclimate to their lives with the same level of support as inpatient.
First Time In Treatment
Those seeking treatment for the first time who need help but are unable to commit to inpatient treatment.
Additional Support Prior To IOP
Sometimes individuals need additional stabilization prior to starting IOP. A week or two of PHP can provide the dedicated time to healing necessary to safely transition to IOP, a much more flexible form of outpatient care.
Those participating in our Addiction Partial Hospitalization Program sometimes find it beneficial to live in a structured sober environment while in treatment. We have limited housing available, as well as relationships with the top sober living homes in the North Atlanta area.
